The more I learn about the issue of women in tech; the more it comes to light that it’s really a perception issue. This – to me – translates to a media issue. How many TV shows can you name with women being portrayed as the cool tech girl? There are a few – a few is not enough. Maybe if we started changing pop-culture to show that it’s acceptable to be women in tech and still be portrayed as exciting and cool and hip – maybe life would imitate art and we’d start getting girls interested in tech at a young age. Now wouldn’t that be cool.
